In the book “The Candymakers,” there are three twelve year old candymakers that are heading to a Life is Sweet factory for a two day training before the Region III competition begins. The characters in the story are Miles O’Leary, Daisy Carpenter, and Philip Ransford. At the factory there is already a fourth competitor named Logan Sweet. The competition will be a little bit competitive because all of the competitors are all talented. Logan Miles lives at the Life is Sweet Factory and is really nervous to meet kids almost the same age as him. Daisy Carpenter is a cheerful girl who is open to anything. Miles O’Leary is a person who is shy and doesn’t have any friends who he trusts. Philip Ransford is a person who always wants attention. He does that because he doesn’t get any attention at home. During the 3 day competition, all 4 players realize that the competition is not just about candy and sugar but has an interesting twist to it.
