Crank is a story about a straight A, honor roll student who gets hooked on drugs. It all starts when Kristina, the main character, decides to visit her father in Albuquerque for 3 weeks. There she meets Adam, a boy her age who introduces her to the drug methamphetamine, otherwise referred to as crank. By the time she leaves Albuquerque, she is completely hooked on crank.

Back home she met Chase and Brendan both at a water park. She began to date Chase. Then one night she called Brendan to buy crank, and he took her out to the woods where they got high together, then he raped her. Kristina tells Chase about the incident and he helps her get through it, with the help of crank as well. Kristina then gets caught hitchhiking and goes to juvenile hall where she is told about a new Meth hook up. When she is released from juvenile hall, she uses her mom’s credit card to buy crank. She then becomes a drug dealer, but struggles to stop using and selling drugs when she finds out that she is pregnant.
